In my backyard I have a bush
the branches look like they are weeping.
But that is fake, I go there while
my parents are in bed, still sleeping
And when I get there, I watch out
for there are branches all around.
Though yes, I know, it's simply dawn,
the birds don't make a single sound.
For half an hour I am the queen
of all the trees and bushes near my hours.
Deep down I know I love this bush,
but I'll be quiet as a mouse.
Nobody knows about this place.
And when they find out, they will be hushed.
I cannot spread my special thing,
it is none other than my bush.

Water by CM
I was on boat,
In a lake,
Waves lapping at the sides.
The sky was gray,
Stormy.
A raging storm was under way.
The waves lapped,
Hungry.
I was far away from shore.
Then there was a white cap,
Then there was water.
Nothing more.
In a lake,
Waves lapping at the sides.
The sky was gray,
Stormy.
A raging storm was under way.
The waves lapped,
Hungry.
I was far away from shore.
Then there was a white cap,
Then there was water.
Nothing more.

A Metaphor Poem and Police File Case On Cat For Eating His Own Donut!!!! by SP
A Metaphor Poem
Mountain Of Milk. You are soft but not hard. Why? We climb up to you and you feel hard. Solid
to a liquid and back and forth it goes
to a liquid and back and forth it goes
Where would a mountain of milk go. As you are so hard. The outside is hard the inside is soft
you know what I mean Mount Christoff? You have the best sights, people make art of you.
You are acknowledged but not enough. Why o mountain do we think you are so rough. Are
blizzards and heat waves not enough? Mountain of milk you are truly soft. Not on the outside
but on the inside. You let Gutzon Borglum carve men into you. Did they ever say thank you?
You are kind, o Mountain of Milk

Police Files Case On Cat! For Eating His Own Donut!
Today on Rockford Ln Hennepin County police officer John Stevensburg filed a case on a stray
cat for eating his own donut after he set it down to talk to some people, the cat leapt of of
a tree and supposedly broke the law by eating the donut and trying to run away before
police officer Stevensburg caught it and put handcuffs on the cats paws while the cat resisted
and tried to run away.

The cat has been put to trial but so far it is not cooperating with a series of meows and more
meows. This is a very big crime and offence to the police. The government has also put
a vote of whether or not the cat should be put to justice. The police are very angry at the cat
and they also think that this cat could be part of the Paw Paw gang.
They are tracing paw prints to see if there were other cats and if
this was a planned crime. So far until today the Paw Paw gang has never shown their whiskers.
But people have reported that they have seen cats that look cute but are evil.
They act like regular cats but behind our backs they steal our cookies. Why our cookies?

Four Poems, A Metaphor, A Metaphor Poem, Two More Poems by BP
Poem #1
Red and white mailboxes
Scatter the streets
Letters from loved ones
Invitations
Bills
Junk mail
Incoming, outgoing
My neighbor passed me
And asked me if I was ok
Because I was just sitting on the sidewalk
Writing a poem about a mailbox
I was like, yeah I’m just fine
Poem #2
Carrying me fast or slow
Dirty soles and knotted laces
Nothing special
Just some shoes
I’d rather go barefoot
Poem #3
Dewy grass, tickling my toes
The softest breeze
Construction equipment
Distrusting the sounds
Of birds and crickets
The wind in the leaves
Poem #4
Branches bending over the bench
I’ve seen a woman here
Fixing the bushes
Planting
The sun glinting off the lake
Birds gliding
-------------------------
Metaphors~
Heart of stone
Mountain of love
War is a nightmare
Love is like finding your favorite song
A school of fish
Tears are floods, when the dam is opened
Jaws of life
Tornado of thoughts, a spiral, destruction bound
-------------------------------
Metaphor poem
Tornado of thoughts
A spiral
Destruction bound
Swirling what if’s
Clouding my reality
Worries and fears exposed
The wind ripping off the roof of a house
Safe places open to the elements
----------------------------------
I know it’s irrational
Not a big deal
But the storm grows
Grows
Grows
Until it’s a funnel cloud
Ripping its way through me
The sirens go off
Danger is at my front door
I’m out in the open
Tears mix with rain
No shelter from the storm
-------------------
Breathe
The storm will pass
I know this
But in the moment
My world is crashing down
And there’s nothing I can do but wait it out
The clouds clear
Check the damages
Broken branches and trees
Debris scattered across my mind space
Piece myself back together
Prepare for the next storm
Squirrel Poem by JJ
The squirrel must eat get to his food; he quickly runs down the tree.
As he sees the bird feeder he jumps.
He misses!
He hits the ground hard.
UMPH is the noise that comes from his mouth.
He climbs the tree and tries again!
He lands on the bird feeder and stuffs his mouth.
Squirrel quickly runs up the tree and eats his food.
Occasionally looking up to make sure there are no predators.
As he sees the bird feeder he jumps.
He misses!
He hits the ground hard.
UMPH is the noise that comes from his mouth.
He climbs the tree and tries again!
He lands on the bird feeder and stuffs his mouth.

The Tornado by CM
I was at my office on a fine summer’s day,
When the sky darkened.
There was a swirling mass in the sky.
They called it many names,
Hole,
Abyss,
Freak storm,
UFO,
The dark jaws.
But no.
It was a tornado of crows.
Hundreds of murders condensed in the sky.
Swirling,
Twirling,
A whirlpool of death.
Advancing on us all.
I heard screams.
Evacuate!
Flee!
Stay calm!
Don’t be afraid!
The tornado’s coming!
It was.
Sweeping through the city swirling, twirling, screeching,
The murders came.
Closer, ever closer,
Upon us.
I braced my self for flying debris,
Nothing.
The crows, murder upon murder, swirled on.
But destruction came.
The cook murdered the truant officer,
I was in shock,
I ran.
The boss murdered the librarian,
I ran out of my office building.
The streets where chaos.
Gunmen shooting at the market,
People where drowning each other in the fountain,
Children chasing each other with kitchen knives.
Bodies all over the ground.
I saw my twenty-year-old son.
I was about to help him,
No,
I smiled.
I picked up a hatchet and advanced.
When the sky darkened.
There was a swirling mass in the sky.
They called it many names,
