Missing the Phone! by JJ

One afternoon Owen was writing a two-page essay at school when he heard his teacher shriek, “Where is my phone?”

The whole class ran over to the teacher’s desk. Earlier her phone was charging. Now, it was GONE!

Owen was well known for solving mysteries. He went out of the classroom and to his locker. He opened his backpack, pulled out his notebook, magnifying glass, and his scotch tape. Then Owen walked back into his classroom and put some tape on the charger and quickly pulled it off. He recognized the fingerprint but couldn’t remember whose it was. He quickly filed through the pictures of fingerprints he had taken. The one he had found belonged to the principal! Owen told the teacher this.

“It can’t be!” she said while shaking her head.

“It has to be,” said Owen. Owen was rarely wrong. Even the teacher knew this. The teacher dialed the police and they came. The police accompanied by Owen, walked to the principal’s office and opened the door.

“Hello there,” said Chief David. The principal quickly looked up. You could see fear in his eyes. “Open your desk,” the Chief said calmly.

The principal slowly slid open his desk and revealed a smartphone. “You are under arrest,” said Chief David. The police officers took the principal away and Owen took the phone to his teacher. Everyone congratulated Owen when he arrived.

“You did it!” exclaimed the teacher.

Owen smiled. “I guess I did,” he said.

The Downsides of Quarantine by JJ

I hate quarantine. You probably hate quarantine too. Nobody likes being cooped up in their house for months. This is an essay about the downsides of quarantine.

You get lonely and bored because you cannot see your friends. You can’t really play outside so lots of energy starts to build up inside you, and you can’t even get out your energy! It is horrible! You can’t forget the fact if you go outside of your house you have to wear a mask. They can make you overheat and if you are doing lots if physical activity it will start to get hard to breath. Also, if you don’t get to exercise a lot you will probably end up gaining weight.

Then there is the fact that you can’t see your friends. This might end up giving you depression or make you extremely lonely. Who likes to just talk to their parents or siblings? BORING. For example, I can barely see my friends and I get bored all the time. If you are the kind of person that doesn’t like to talk to your parents (me) then you are kind of screwed. You may end up talking to yourself or not living objects. Which is kind of creepy and weird.

This is a great time to get a phone, because if you are my age or older all your friends will probably already have phones so you could call them and talk to them. You would probably end up being less lonely (but you would still probably be lonely). We don’t even go to school anymore so we see barely anyone. Online school can be hard for some people because they might need help from the teachers because they might be learning a new or hard subject, during online learning I have had experience where I need help with something and my parents can’t figure it out and the teacher isn’t online so you might have to end up turning something in late and getting a bad grade on it because the teacher couldn’t help you. So, it ends up being the teacher’s fault and things can get complicated and confusing.

In conclusion, quarantine is horrible. I cannot wait till life is normal again.

Squirrels Overrun Area 51!!!! by JJ

Recently Area 51 was assaulted by blood thirsty squirrels, who were sick of being treated like animals humans quickly evacuated as the numbers of squirrels quickly increased, President Trump sent in the U.S. Air Force, but it was quickly crushed by the millions of squirrels.

Soon squirrels had destroyed all research and experiments. The Marines were ordered to assault the new “Squirrel Empire.” But by the time they got there the squirrels had already found out the wonders of the anti- aircraft cannon and how to work a tank! The Marines were quickly annihilated by the sneak attack. The military generals and commanders were furious. They wondered, “HOW COULD RODENTS BEAT THEIR FORCES?!”

It was time to send in the big guns. All military forces that were not currently engaged in war were sent to the new squirrel base to secure it. The squirrels quickly found this out because they had modified some of their comrade’s brains so they now had IQs over 300. Now the super-smart squirrels could hack the system. This is all the information we could collect about this massacre.

Overall, this event remains a big mystery to mankind.

The squirrel must eat get to his food; he quickly runs down the tree.
As he sees the bird feeder he jumps.
He misses!
He hits the ground hard.
UMPH is the noise that comes from his mouth.
He climbs the tree and tries again!
He lands on the bird feeder and stuffs his mouth.
Squirrel quickly runs up the tree and eats his food.
Occasionally looking up to make sure there are no predators.
